Top of the Pops, 18th October 2018

It's always impressive when a collaboration between more than about three artistes gets them all to turn out on the TOTP stage. This week we have two examples - from Jason Derulo, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and Willy William, and Fredo, Young T and Bugsey - so A+ for effort to them. Fredo actually manages two appearances on his TOTP debut, including the number 1 single alongside Dave.

We're also strong in the singing department, thanks to Rita Ora, Becky Hill and Halsey, and the serious star power comes from Eminem, who's been on a few times lately.

Some incredible star power on TOTP this week. The highest new entry is from LADY GAGA and her Star Is Born co-star, and we also have top US names Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar and friend of the show Khalid.

After a few weeks climbing, Sigala finally gets high enough to get a TOTP invitation, and he manages to corral all his co-artistes to appear with him. Meanwhile George Ezra's Shotgun somehow floats back into the top ten, so he makes a triumphant appearance and also helps out Calvin Harris by filling in for Sam Smith in a unique performance.

Another new number 1: this time it's the low-key banger from Calvin Harris and Sam Smith nipping ahead of the competition. Though perhaps bigger chart waves are made by Eminem, The Ringer spearheading a trio of new entries from his latest album.

Elsewhere, Freya Ridings finally makes the cut in her eighth week on the chart, and there are reprises of long-running hits from B Young, CamelPhat and friend of the show Anne-Marie (sans Guetta this time). And there's a special appearance from supergroup LSD: Labrinth, Sia and Diplo if you're wondering.
