Top of the Pops, 14th July 2016

Drake's still at number one, I'm afraid, but once again Top of the Pops finds a way to keep the One Dance performances fresh. This week we have Drizzy's featured performer Wizkid mashing it up with Tinie Tempah, whose Mamacita he also guests on in the chart this week.

Freshness also emanates from MK and Becky Hill, and to a lesser extent Charlie Puth, while tried and trusted tracks from Adele, Major Lazer and friend of the show Ariana Grande join them on the TOTP stage. The latest Chainsmokers track is also doing surprisingly well, isn't it?

Top of the Pops, 30th June 2016

Two Glastonbury headliners are climbing the chart this week, so both Adele and Coldplay wash the mud off and come down the the studio to ride their momentum. Bastille and Sigala are both back, the latter bringing along the legendary Nile Rogers as well as our old friend of the show John Newman.

At the top of the charts, One Dance is getting into silly territory with its eleventh week at number 1. Once again Drake isn't around, so the lovely Little Mix are here to perform the song instead. They get Nile Rodgers to back them up since he's here, and Jade has a tambourine.

Debuts: Nile Rodgers (as featured artist).

Top of the Pops, 9th June 2016

She might have missed out on the number 1 (and indeed the top 8) at Christmas, but Louisa Johnson has the highest new entry this week alongside friends of the show Clean Bandit. She also has the honour of filling in the Beyonce bit in a memorable performance of Coldplay's Hymn For The Weekend. Gnash and Cheat Codes continue to make inroads into the chart, and there's a nice bit of History as we recognise One Direction's continuing chart presence months after their split. Gone but not forgotten.

Drake has now been at number 1 for two months but we just get a (specially prepared) lyric video this week. Not even one dance.

Debuts: Louisa Johnson, Daya.
