Top of the Pops, 8th October 2020

Big breakthrough for Tate McRae this week, as her slow-burning ballad makes the top ten for the first time. Also scaling new peaks are Gunna and the rest of the Internet Money guys, and lower down, Dermot Kennedy. Star power comes from Miley Cyrus, freshness from Da Beatfreakz, and class from friend of the show the Weeknd.

The show is bookended by performances from 24KGoldn, with Clean Bandit to open the show and holding on at number 1 in his own right to close it.

We're still ground to a halt near the top of the chart, so most of the interest is lower down, including a couple of rare invitees from outside the top 40. Not that that means a drop in star power: BTS are a pretty big name after all.

The exception is Eminem (with beyond-the-grave support from Juice WRLD) who crashes in at the top spot. Still got it.
