Top of the Pops, 10th October 2013

One of the more surprising leaps to number 1 of recent years brings a celebratory performance from a grinning OneRepublic. Elsewhere, we have a good mix of borderline novelty rap, dance and singy-guitary things, plus a rescreening of an Oasis behemoth from back in the day (resurrected by some X Factor audition, I'd bet).

Chase & Status ft Moko - Count On Me

In at number 5

Vamps - Can We Dance

Highest New Entry - In at number 2

John Newman - Love Me Again

Up 2 to number 25

Nelly ft Pharrell Williams - Get Like Me

In at number 19

Lucy Spraggan - Last Night

In at number 18

From the Vault: Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out

Back in at number 71

Dizzee Rascal ft Will.I.Am - Something Really Bad

In at number 10

Top of the Pops, 25th July 2013

Calvin Harris ft. Ayah Marar - Thinking About You

High Climber - Up 21 to number 28 - Perhaps surprisingly this is the one man hit machine Calvin Harris's first time on the new TOTP. He and fellow debutante Ayah Marar raise the roof as the show kicks off.

Selena Gomez - Come and Get It

In at number 8 - A polished performance from the popular, picturesque, perfect popstrel.

Lucy Spraggan - Lighthouse

In at number 26 - Just Lucy and her guitar, and her hit song of course. No woolly hat as it's too hot.

Breach - Jack

In at number 9 - Recalling the glory days of 90s dance, Breach lurks behind a bank of keyboards and other equipment of unknown purpose while dancers work the stage in outlandish garb.

Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up

In at number 14 - Always happy to be here, Avril gives a spirited rendition of her latest teen anthem. Chad Kroeger guests on maracas.

K Koke ft. Bridget Kelly - My Time

In at number 52 - Another British rap hopeful bubbling under in the lower reaches of the chart. Will TOTP work its magic and catapult him into the top 40 next week?

Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith - La La La

Up 1 to number 6 - Naughty Boy gets his chance at a TOTP slot thanks to a minor float up the top ten. He and Sam Smith make the most of their screen time, Smith's impassioned live vocals turning out to be a highlight of the evening.

Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up

Straight in at number 1 - The mega-selling Sandé/Nashville/Scooter hybrid closes the show in flamboyant style, fronted by the now-minted Aloe Blacc in irrepressible form.
