Top of the Pops, 7th October 2021

Last week we had La Di Da, this week it's Uh Oh and Ah Ah Ah. Trendspotters are predicting either Mmhmmm or Oi Oi for Christmas number 1 - but only if it's recorded by King Ed Sheeran, who looks all but immovable. Top of the Pops, 2nd September 2021

What's better than nine weeks at number 1? King Ed Sheeran has the answer: nine weeks at number 1 AND the highest new entry. Top of the Pops, 3rd December 2020

It's December and the big guns are coming out. BTS, Mendes and Bieber and Cyrus and Lipa all take their best shots at the chart, although for the moment they are still behind Ariana Grande and also the surprisingly resilient Wes Nelson and Hardy Caprio.

In an effort to avoid too much repetition, we pass over Mariah and a couple of others and dig down to number 33 for a classic Christmas toe-tapper from Shakin' Stevens.

Top of the Pops, 12th November 2020

Another big entry for Ariana Grande this week means that she can perform 34 + 35 as well as her chart topper Positions. Will she make it a threesome next week? There are also minor climbs for the hits of the moment from Miley Cyrus, Wes Nelson and Tate McRae, and a fun appearance from friend of the show Dua Lipa.

Perhaps the most special performance, though, is from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra (socially distanced, of course). They perform a very touching rendition of the internet phenomenon Four Notes.

Thanks to the way the chart works, it's only this week that the Halloween tracks are charting, hence the presence of Bobby "Boris" Pickett in the From The Vault slot.

Debuts: The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Top of the Pops, 29th October 2020

It's all about the Internet Money crew this week, as Gunna and co become one of the more unexpected number 1s of the year in their tenth week on the chart. Wes Nelson and Hardy Caprio seem to be in the middle of a similar climb - will they be next?

We've also got reappearances from Joel Corry and MNEK and Dermot Kennedy, and a new entry from Digga D. International megastars BTS also join a high-quality line-up, and James Arthur mixes in a little bit of his solo hit with the Sigala track.

Top of the Pops, 15th October 2020

We've got several urban-type chartbreakers this week, from Bryson Tiller (with the obligatory Drake feature), Wes Nelson and Hardy Caprio, and most of all an Aitch-assisted D-Block Europe. More reflectively, Shawn Mendes reappears with Wonder, and friend of the show Dua Lipa is levitating back up the chart with more of her future-nostalgic sounds.

24KGoldn and Iann Dior are unmoveable at the top. Sigala and James Arthur are also back.
