New chart peaks this week for Becky Hill's latest one, and for Halsey, and indeed for the tireless Joel Corry. The star power comes (mainly) from Harry Styles and Dua Lipa, plus friend of the show Camila Cabello, and we pay tribute to the memory of posthumous chart leaper Pop Smoke. The Weeknd brings us a secondary track alongside his new romantic megahit to close the show.

Even into October, the Summer of Heartfeltness continues: we have a second consecutive week without Sam Smith (?!) but his absence is more than made up for by further helpings of George Ezra and friend of the show Ed Sheeran. There's some good old-fashioned pop-dance as well, mind - a trio of pop queens sit at number 1, and Ariana Grande also gets the most out of her plan ticket and performs her own hit Break Free as well. Next week's likely number 1 is not here yet, but Power Music Workout represent the song with their cheeky ripoff, a troupe of hired dancers playing it for laughs.

Not sure why Cilla Black is lurking in the chart's lower reaches, but From the Vault digs her out so that we can speculate.

Other highlights are Paolo Nutini peddling a two-track sampler from his number 1 album, and Ed Sheeran celebrating his Hobbit hit's longevity by dressing up as Frodo Baggins (should have been Bilbo - we'll get letters).
