A fourth new number 1 in four weeks! Doja Cat celebrates by inviting Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective to back her for a very special performance of Paint The Town Red. Also exclusively changing things up is Sam Smith, with a lovely candlelight version of their Calvin Harris banger.

Kenya Grace makes a strong debut but the highest entry comes from the good-as-ever Kylie Minogue. And Florence + the Machine are so impressed with the resurgent popularity of Dog Days Are Over that they come along to perform their archival hit in person.

Staying power is the theme this week: Kylie Minogue, friend of the show Dua Lipa and Jorja Smith all reap the rewards of long, measured climbs up the chart. Nobody has more chart stamina at the moment than Dave and Central Cee though, and they celebrate six weeks at number 1 with an exclusive version of their track featuring a couple of handy guests.

Centre stage, though, goes to Taylor Swift as she showcases two hit tracks from her latest re-recorded album.

There are second appearances this week for three tracks that are showing more chart staying power than perhaps might have been expected: the Eurovision winner Loreen, plus Kylie Minogue and Lana Del Rey, who in recent years have often both seen their high chart entries drop down in subsequent weeks. Not this time!

There's also a healthy dose of dance music from Hannah Laing and Becky Hill (unbelievably, the dance queen's first appearance this year), as well as a sighting of Jorja Smith. It's always nice to welcome Madonna back to the show, but perhaps the biggest news is Dave and Central Cee's superstar team-up finally knocking Calvin and Ellie off the top.

Debuts: Hannah Laing, RoRo, Lewis Thompson

The Weeknd ft. Playboi Carti and Madonna - Popular

Calvin Harris is back in the studio for the proper rave-up version of Miracle as it reaches six weeks at the top. Other dance bangers are brought by Anne-Marie, Rudimental and Switch Disco, and the latter two join Calvin to do a three-way euphoric remix of As It Was as Harry Styles celebrates 60 consecutive weeks on the chart, most of them in the upper reaches.

Two big names have new entries this week: Lana Del Rey and Kylie Minogue both do well with their fresh material. David Kushner is also back with his Hozier-style, inexplicably popular balled.

Top of the Pops, 20th March 2014

We see big comebacks from three female solo artists this week: Kylie Minogue, Pixie Lott and the singer-songwriter-type Christina Perri. John Legend continues his slow, sentimental chart climb, and there is a bouncing return from One Direction as their AC/DC-style rocker pops back into the top 40. The novelty genre is also strongly represented by the Chainsmokers and Flo Rida, while friend of the show Tinie Tempah (and some trolls hunched over Korgs) crash in at the top.
