Top of the Pops, 20th October 2022

Megawatt star power this week from Nicki Minaj at the start and Sam Smith and Kim Petras in the number 1 spot. There is also a debut from Venbee and Goddard, and a double performance from Steve Lacey. Mimi Webb is doing well with her latest, and it's exciting to see Robin Schulz popping up again after a long absence.

A big welcome back for friend of the show Anne-Marie! Aitch guests on her song, and he's also here on his own track alongside King Ed Sheeran, so it all joins up. Also returning are international stars BlackPink with their second hit of the year, and Rosa Linn, who's showing a lot of staying power for a Eurovision hit.

It's a big welcome back for two of Britain's remaining bands, the Arctic Monkeys and the 1975. And a huge turnaround for Tom Odell, who is storming back up the chart after ages on the edges. Other than that it's something of a catch-up week, with repeat appearances for some of the biggest hits of the moment from Luude, Central Cee and Steve Lacy. Eliza Rose proves it wasn't a fluke and makes it two weeks at number 1.
