Brat summer has definitely arrived! Charli XCX makes an Olympic pole vault to number 1, with a little help from Billie Eilish. She and Chappell Roan help friend of the show Benson Boone out with a fun reimagining of Beautiful Things as well.

With a lot of foot-shuffling in the middle of the chart, a few lower-down tracks can be featured: the new tracks from Sonny Fodera and Hanumakind, a joyful reprise from Coldplay, and a double header from bright young thing Gracie Abrams. Lots of people making moves on the charts this week. There are two big entries from former group members, for Jade (Little Mix) and Jimin (BTS). There are new chart peaks for adult-contemporary trendsetters Myles Smith and Benson Boone. There's a big rush, as the brat summer builds, for Charli XCX. And Billie Eilish hits number 2 and brings along another new track as a bonus.

Central Cee is here with another guest rapper to fill in for Lil Baby. But the most impressive of all is Miss 2024 Sabrina Carpenter, who knocks herself off the top to give Please Please Please a second run to follow the second run of Espresso. Wow.

The tortured poet wave has largely broken, meaning that a lot of songs shuffle up a few places, giving us a nice compendium of the top hits of the moment from Benson Boone, Dasha, Artemas and even Noah Kahan. The most impressive climb, though, has to be Sabrina Carpenter skipping up all the way to her first even number 1 single.
