Top of the Pops, 1st July 2021

There's a nice selection of bigger and (so far) smaller hits this week. At the top we have Olivia Rodrigo (plus another new one of hers), KSI and UK Rodrigo avatar Mimi Webb. Lower down are Willow, Griff and the new one from Mabel.

In the middle we have the man of the moment Tom Grennan, who brings back Ella Henderson to help out on an acoustic version of By Your Side as well as their duet.

There are some big chart moves this week. Rag 'N' Bone Man and Pink pick this week to shoot into the top ten as they had always threatened, Kid Laroi leaps back up after six months on the chart, and the highest new entry is from friends of the show Coldplay.

Lower down there are new songs from J Cole and Trippie Red. Tion and Russ hang on at the top for a second week, and Griff and RAYE round out the line-up with playful repeat performances of their established hits.

After her chart-conquering debut, Olivia Rodrigo is back at the more modest position of number 27. She joins Giveon in bringing new material to the show, and D-Block Europe perform their song in full for the first time after a cameo a few weeks ago.

There are also reprises as new heights are hit by Joel Corry, Silk Sonic and Lil TJay. Critical darling Griff performs her own hit and also spices up an exclusive performance by Lil Nas X at the top.

Justin Bieber launches an assault in earnest, smashing in with three songs, two of which are performed tonight. That causes a lot of other high-up songs to drop down the chart, so we have to go quite deep to fill the show (not that that's a bad thing) - hello James Arthur at number 43!

Nathan Evans holds steady at number 1, and we've got a lively line-up including new face Griff and a double bill from friend of the show Dua Lipa.
