Phew! Drake only lasts a week at the top this time, as the sophisticated sounds of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa glide effortlessly up to supplant him. In fact it's a pretty sophisticated show this week, with double features from Paloma Faith and George Ezra and the new banger from RnB smoothie ZAYN as well.

At the grimier end of things are Banx & Ranx, as well as American reprobate Post Malone. And since he's here, Calvin has  time to collaborate on an exclusive version of the M.O. track as well as his number 1 behemoth.

I don't think anyone could have predicted the success of the Greatest Showman soundtrack, but here it is, the biggest movie chart phenomenon since Frozen - and This Is Me is still in the top ten, which Let It Go never quite managed. Keala Settle appears once again to belt it out.

Elsewhere we have the second TOTP appearance this year for the unlikely Florida Georgia Line, a welcome reappearance by the girl band M.O., and the return of Years & Years. Various other popular hits of the day complete the line-up.

No change at the top of the chart, so King Ed keeps court once more with Shape Of You. Not a lot of love for Castle On The Hill just now, but who really cares.

The rest of the line-up is pretty vibrant, with girlbands M.O. and Little Mix, dance banger-makers Starley and Jax Jones, and a nice change of pace from James Arthur's Sheeran homage as well. Tinie Tempah and Tinashe make a splash with a fun, sexy performance and the show is arguably stolen by a rollercoaster of a medley from Dua Lipa.

Debuts: None.

Top of the Pops, 11th August 2016

At the risk of the universe imploding, we have girlband M.O. and rubberised Dane on the same show this week. For safety, we put them at opposite ends of the line-up, so the girls get to open proceedings while their near-namesake takes full vocal duties on Cold Water - we can't expect Bieber to be available every week, can we?

We may not have young Justin but we do have something quite special: the reigning queen of pop Rihanna is here, alongside Calvin Harris, for a three-song superhit medley. There are also a few welcome debuts and fresh material from Twenty One Pilots.

Debuts: Halsey, Anne-Marie, Joel Adams.

M.O. - Who Do You Think Of?

Up 7 to number 18

Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna - This Is What You Came For / Too Good / Needed Me

Top of the Pops, 28th July 2016

Despite his extended stay at number 1 Drake hasn't been into the studio for a couple of weeks, but he puts that right tonight, bringing us both his current hits with a guest violinist and harpsichord player to keep things fresh. He matches Wet Wet Wet this week and Whigfield doesn't have a single out so he may equal Mr Adams in seven days' time.

This week's debut is girl band M.O., not to be confused with the bendy Scandi vocalist MØ who was on last week. The other big news is the return of Katy Perry, and the line-up is completed by popular boy band 5SOS, the return of Snakehips, friend of the show Ariana Grande, the continued efforts of Becky Hill, and Shawn Mendes's red pill anthem.

Debuts: M.O.

5 Seconds of Summer - Girls Talk Boys

In at number 28

M.O. - Who Do You Think Of

High Climber - Up 12 to number 35
