Also performing two tracks are Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign, whose latest batch of hits seems to have more chart staying power than usual. Momentarily taking some of the spotlight from King Ed Sheeran, none other than Kanye West blusters into town, riding a wave of three big instahits from his latest album. But even their star power might not quite match up to the combined wattage of Elton John and Dua Lipa. Or from a global perspective, BTS.

In addition, there's let another new track from hit machine Doja Cat, a David Guetta song that's been bubbling under for the last six weeks, and a very impressive chart climb by Glass Animals. And dancefloor royalty Becky Hill raises the tempo as always.

Top of the Pops, 16th July 2020

We're swamped with new entries this week, mostly from the world of rap, both British and US, but also including the third banger from Joel Corry - it's starting to look like the first one wasn't a fluke. Ty Dolla $ign and co make the most impressive use of the multi-way Zoom functionality, with an unexpected TOTP debut from FKA Twigs.

The chart story of the week has to be the late Pop Smoke, whose album places three hits in the top 40 and one in the top ten. Jason and Jawsh hang on for a second week at the top.
