Top of the Pops, 26th March 2015

A bit of TOTP musical chairs this week produces some special one-offs. Bruno Mars is out of town so Mark Ronson calls on Olly Murs AND Maroon 5's Adam Levine to bring their song and dance man talents to Uptown Funk. Murs in turn recruits Sam Smith for the Lovato role on Up, before returning the favour to do justice to John Legend's lines on still-number-one Lay Me Down.

We also see James Bay scale a new chart peak, and a trio of dance hits rounds out the show.

The chart is looking very 90s this week, with patches of new entries and even fewer climbers than last week. This means that we have to look into the lower reaches for our guest performers, with the interesting result that there are three rock-ish acts featured for the first time in a long time. Including Muse, if you can believe it.

It's not all guitars and shrieking, though - there are also fresh faces from the worlds of dance and grime, a bit of Flo Rida, and the haha-larious Sam Smith and John Legend at number 1.

Debuts: Sage the Gemini, Kygo, Conrad, Stormzy

Tons of new entries this week and not many climbers in the upper reaches, so we have room for a presumable future hit from Calvin Harris and Haim and a once again resurgent Imagine Dragons, among other varied delights.

Queen Taylor favours us with a visit, but she can't go on for too long because Kanye West is also here and he has two current hits to fit in. Anyway the week belongs to Years and Years as King receives its coronation.

Debuts: Alex Adair, Marlon Roudette.

Alex Adair - Make Me Feel Better
