Calvin Harris ft. Ayah Marar - Thinking About You

High Climber - Up 21 to number 28 - Perhaps surprisingly this is the one man hit machine Calvin Harris's first time on the new TOTP. He and fellow debutante Ayah Marar raise the roof as the show kicks off.

Selena Gomez - Come and Get It

In at number 8 - A polished performance from the popular, picturesque, perfect popstrel.

Lucy Spraggan - Lighthouse

In at number 26 - Just Lucy and her guitar, and her hit song of course. No woolly hat as it's too hot.

Breach - Jack

In at number 9 - Recalling the glory days of 90s dance, Breach lurks behind a bank of keyboards and other equipment of unknown purpose while dancers work the stage in outlandish garb.

Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up

In at number 14 - Always happy to be here, Avril gives a spirited rendition of her latest teen anthem. Chad Kroeger guests on maracas.

K Koke ft. Bridget Kelly - My Time

In at number 52 - Another British rap hopeful bubbling under in the lower reaches of the chart. Will TOTP work its magic and catapult him into the top 40 next week?

Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith - La La La

Up 1 to number 6 - Naughty Boy gets his chance at a TOTP slot thanks to a minor float up the top ten. He and Sam Smith make the most of their screen time, Smith's impassioned live vocals turning out to be a highlight of the evening.

Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up

Straight in at number 1 - The mega-selling Sandé/Nashville/Scooter hybrid closes the show in flamboyant style, fronted by the now-minted Aloe Blacc in irrepressible form.

Pink and Lily Rose Cooper - True Love

Up 23 to number 36 - The show kicks off with the formidable figure of Pink, plus a blink-and-miss-it cameo from Lily to provide a counterpoint to the lusty belting. Sure to climb the chart again next week.

Lawson - Brokenhearted

In at number 6 - Lawson fill the screen with charm and verve. Few notice BOB's absence.

Katy B - What Love Is Made Of

In at number 21 - Time to get the crowd bouncing, as the duchess of dubstep makes sure her return is a triumphant one.

Sebastian Ingrosso ft Tommy Trash and John Martin - Reload

Highest New Entry - In at number 3 - No longer in the Swedish House Mafia but still in a trio of sorts, Mr Ingrosso brings his vocalist friends along to shake the joint.

Iggy Azalea - Bounce

In at number 13 - The bangers just keep on coming. A typically free-spirited performance here.

Ed Sheeran with Lily Rose Cooper - Everything Has Changed

Up 3 to number 12 - Taylor is busy this week, but Ed's available. The result: a true TOTP moment as Lily Rose Cooper is roped in to do Swift's bits, giving a fresh take on this touching duet. Public demand for a proper release of this version is to build over the next few weeks.

Sneakbo - Ring a Ling

In at number 27 - A bit of British rap amps up the crowd.

Robin Thicke ft TI and Pharrell - Blurred Lines

Up 1 to number 1 - As the man Nick Grimshaw once called "Ye Olde Thicko" climbs back to number 1, we have an opportunity to show you the video. Not the uncut version, though. And not the uncut cut version either - that's still a bit much for TOTP. Instead, we proudly present our own cleaned-up edit of the clean(er) edit, which basically boils down to three minutes of T.I. tapdancing - no bad thing.

Ke$ha and Will.I.Am - Crazy Kids

High Climber - Up 8 to number 27 - It's been in the chart for a couple of weeks, but only just started making waves. Will and Ke$ha both make the trip to kick off the show with an energetic, hip-swivelling performance.

The Saturdays - Gentleman

In at number 14 - First appearance on the new TOTP for the Saturdays. The girls have a lot of fun with five sharp-suited male dancers.

Gabz - Lighters (The One)

In at number 6 - The former Britain's Got Talent contestant marks her arrival as a proper chart star with an impressive top ten entry.

Mumford and Sons - I Will Wait

Re-entry at number 31 - This week's biggest Glastonbury sales boost is enough to put the nation's favourite scruffcore roustabouts back in the top 40. A TOTP appearance makes a fun counterpart to their main-stage heroics last weekend.

Russ Chimes - Turn Me Out

In at number 40 - The second new face of the week is Russ Chimes, looking for a boost to send him further up the top 40 next week. Lots of dancers and lights here.

From the Vault: Robin S - Show Me Love

Re-entry at number 49 - It's actually the Steve Angello version that's re-entered the lower reaches of the chart, but that's still a great reason to show this fine original performance from way back in 1993.

Coldplay - Viva la Vida

Re-entry at number 45 - This can't be a From the Vault slot because Viva la Vida came too late to be on the original TOTP, but the band come on the show now to put that right. Quite a moment; Chris Martin looks thrilled to be here.

John Newman - Love Me Again

Straight in at number 1 - He was on last week with Rudimental, and here is the man of the moment again with a number 1 smash in his own right.

Chase and Status ft Louis M^ttrs - Lost & Not Found

In at number 15 - An intense performance from the returning duo (plus friend) to open the show.

The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna

In at number 4 - First appearance on the new TOTP for the Wanted. They love every minute of it, soaking up the fans' adoration in front of a big screen that shows their amusing video.

Andrea Begley - My Immortal

In at number 30 - Already showing more confidence and signs of true star quality, the Voice winner gives us a stately, dry-ice-infused performance of this evergreen tune. We had the original last week, here's the update.

Leeroy and Nagla - Can't Get Enough

In at number 37 - These two up-and-coming urban artistes show the prime-time audience what they're all about.

The Lumineers - Ho Hey

Up 1 to number 27 - This has been around the top 40 for weeks, so it's great that it's made it onto TOTP. A rousing rendition.

Will.I.Am - Bang Bang

High Climber - Up 39 to number 3 - Will does his robo-thing.

Rudimental and John Newman - Feel the Love

Up 1 to number 38 - Another hit that's been bubbling for a long time makes its way onto the show. John Newman in particular seems like a star in the making...

Icona Pop - I Love It

In at number 1 - A triumphant, effervescent performance from the Swedish newcomers. No Charli XCX although she is sometimes credited on the single - she will bide her time until she has a hit in her own right, which surely cannot be far away.
